The history of the Shigemasu Brewery began when the first-generation Rokurōemon Takahashi opened a sake brewery in Yame, a region renowned for its rice production.
Preserving the Art of Inheritance and Moving Toward Further Evolution

Since then, the company has undergone various changes—including the consolidation of its foundations under the ninth-generation Takekichi and the reorganization into a corporate structure under the tenth-generation Shigetaro—leading to the current nineteenth-generation head.
We continue to preserve and refine the techniques passed down to us, and we strive every day to produce sake that earns high praise from our customers.
