"Enjoying Sake with Medicinal Cuisine" In-House Tasting Event, Part 2

"Enjoying Sake with Medicinal Cuisine" In-House Tasting Event, Part 2

In preparation for the second event, which will be held on September 9, we held a tasting event at "Saheho" in Yame.
Together with employees from the sales and manufacturing departments, I experienced a pairing of Shigemasa’s sake and sake lees shochu with medicinal cuisine.

The theme this time is “Restoring Your Digestive Health in Preparation for the Autumn Feast.” While taking care of your body—which may still be feeling the lingering effects of summer fatigue—we’ll help you get your body in shape to fully enjoy the flavors of autumn—a perspective unique to medicinal cuisine.

Rather than just tasting the sake on its own, there are new dimensions that emerge when you savor it alongside food.

What really stood out to me this time was the sake kasu shochu mixed with Yame tea. Sake lees shochu and Yame tea—enjoying Yame’s local liquor with Yame’s local tea is a slightly indulgent way to drink that’s unique to Yame. Although I tried just one type of Yame tea this time, I feel like I could enjoy different flavors by switching up the tea varieties, so I’m eager to try various combinations from now on.

By eating, drinking, and sharing experiences together—those who create the food and those who deliver it—we gained many new insights once again.
We will apply what we’ve learned to this season’s sake brewing as well.

Thank you very much, Saheho.

To everyone who signed up for the second "Gathering to Enjoy Sake with Medicinal Cuisine": We look forward to seeing you in Yame on September 9.
Please be careful on your way here.
