Sake Column

Sake brings people together.

Sake brings people together.

The other day, we held a summer get-together for all our employees, including the warehouse staff.
As we shared drinks from our wooden cups, we talked about work, exchanged lighthearted banter, and laughed—and before we knew it, time had flown by.

We feel that the time we spend together, savoring the sake ourselves, is also an essential and precious part of the sake-making process.
We believe that only when the brewer truly enjoys the process does that passion find its way into every glass of sake.

Since its founding in the Edo period, in the second year of the Kyōhō era (1717), Shigemasu has quietly been a part of gatherings where people come together.
Whether at a celebratory gathering, a night of appreciation, or a simple everyday meal—wherever there is sake, there is always the warmth of human connection.

We will continue to pour our hearts into every cup. All of our employees are committed to crafting sake that will make you think, “I’d like to have another glass.”
